6 Unforgettable Valentines Day Destinations

If you’re anything like us, it probably feels like we just barely made it through the holiday season and here we are; it’s Valentine’s Day already. We’re going to be your personal cupid and make this year’s Valentine’s Day a little bit easier on you. While the traditional candy, cards, and flowers can always win you points with the heart, planning a romantic or love-themed getaway for Valentine’s Day is a sure way to your lover’s heart and, with some cheap airfare, to a break on your bank account.

Las Vegas, Nev. Vegas may be know for what it offers bachelor and bachelorette parties and 21st birthdays, it’s also great for decadence, romanticism, and maybe even a spontaneous wedding … Flights to the city of sin are never in short supply so you shouldn’t have a hard time finding cheap tickets; what you should splurge on is the hotel. Caesar’s Palace is running a two-night special, with a $50 dining credit, and two massages; your honey doesn’t have to know that this sweet suite starts at around only $100. Top off the weekend of love with a pair of tickets to the Cirque du Soliel production of The Beatles LOVE.

Loveland, Col.
For those who love a good play on words, take a trip to the literal love capital of the country. It may be a stretch to find cheap airline tickets to this semi-remote destination just outside of Fort Collins, but once you’re there you and your sweetie can bond on an entirely new level. Sign up for the Loveland Sweetheart Classic Four-Mile Race – it may sound crazy but they say that the endorphins released between two partners during exercise can be one of the most powerful ways to bond.

Vero Beach, Fla. Dying for a Valentine’s Day getaway but can’t bear the idea of parting with your pooches? Snatch some airline tickets to Vero Beach’s Kimpton Resort. We just can’t get over how adorable the Pooch n’ Smooch special is. Starting at $368 per night you can have a picnic with your dogs at the park, including a basket full of human and pup treats as well as toys and poop bags, and get a bonus bottle of Champagne and package of homemade dog treats in your room. Memorialize the weekend with a photo shoot on the beach with the whole family. You can even show some love for un-rescued pets by donating $5 to the Indian River County Humane Society.

San Francisco, Ca. Home to Ghiradelli Chocolate and the famed red trolleys, San Francisco is a lovers’ playgroun d. But more than just sweet rides and sweet treats, San Francisco offers stunningly romantic views and vistas overlooking the bay and some of the best dining in the world on Fisherman’s Warf. Look for package deals on discount airfare and hotel Websites for the best deals, but don’t worry about car rental; you won’t need your own transportation in this city. Head to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art on the 14th to have Valentine’s Day photography portraits taken by documentary photography Jason Winshell or take part in a less-than-traditional day with a public pillow fight in Justin Herman Plaza.

Lenox, Mass. Canyon Ranch in Massachusetts offers Valentine’s Day tourists a more full-body experience. The “Nourishing Your Heart” seminar offers practical strategies for keeping your heart healthy. Soothe the soul by participating in meditation practice, learning the art of forgiveness, and signing up for some of the resort’s state-of-the-art treatments. You’ll round out your day of love with a full heart and a surprisingly full wallet when you find cheap flights to Albany, NY or Hartford, Conn. to get to Lenox.

New York, NY. The big apple offers something for everyone all throughout the year, but especially for Valentine’s Day. Be flexible with your airport selection; you could find cheap tickets to Newark, LaGuardia, or JFK International airports. Bundle up with your cutie on the ice for the Skate-a-Date package at Rockefeller Center, which includes two VIP entries to skip the line and dinner for two with a view for $80. For a more risqué stay, check in to The Library Hotel where you can read erotic texts in room 800.001 (the rooms are listed by the Dewey classification system).

My boyfriend is turning 21, and he doesn’t drink at all. So, no alcohol (too bad, that’d make it so much easier!). I’ve already done the cute box with 365 reasons why I love him in it. I’ve already given him picture frames with our pictures in it. I’ve already made him a blanket. We’ve been together for almost 3 years now.

I’m not opposed to doing the homemade gift ideas again, but I want to do more than just that. It’s his 21st. Kind of a bigger deal than other birthdays. I thought of getting together a basket full of 21 different things, however, that’s harder than it sounds.

He’s really into running and cross country, but I wouldn’t know what he needed for that. He’s pretty picky when it comes to that kind of stuff. I can pick out clothes for him, however, I’ve given him clothes before, not that I couldn’t again… but, been there done that. He loves music, but he has every CD and song on his ipod he could want. He’s not THAT into sports such as football, hockey, etc., so I’d like to stay clear of that area.

I’ve thought of getting him a shirt or whatever, some boxers, a homemade gift, something kinky, making him a cake, or cookies. I want something creative, something that’ll really make him say WOW. He always spends money on me, not that that matters. Just because its more expensive, doesn’t make it more special. But, I don’t want to be cheap either. I wouldn’t say money is an issue for his gift(s) either, but I’d like to stick with reasonable prices.

Any help and ideas would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thank you so so much.

There are a number of important issues you need to establish before proceeding with a medical negligence claim against a healthcare provider. First, it’s necessary to prove that the treatment of the claimant has fallen below the minimum standard of acceptable treatment by a clinician in that particular area of medicine.

Once this has been established the next issue on the list is to prove that the healthcare provider was responsible for the patient’s care and health. In most cases a standard doctor/patient relationship would be sufficient.

In addition to this the claimant must be able to provide evidence that it was the clinical negligence that caused the actual injury or harm. The best practice to accomplish this is to establish the natural development of the illness and the likely outcome if correct treatment had been given. The result should then be compared the outcome following the negligent treatment. There may be slight variations in patient’s reaction to the same treatment which must be taken into consideration when making this comparison.

Compensation can be claimed for items such as:

• Pain & Suffering

• Change of Lifestyle

• Loss of Past & Future Earnings

• Prescription Charges & Medical Fees

• Costs of Assistance for Household Chores

• Travelling Expenses

• Special Care Aids & Equipment

• Cost of Care & Assistance

• Adapted Accommodation & Transportation

• Out-of-Pocket Expenses

The primary limitation period for England and Wales for medical negligence claims is three years from the date of the clinical mistreatment or from the date when it is realised or should be realised that a significant injury has been suffered as the result of the negligent treatment. However, this may be extended in the following cases:

• Mental Disabilities: In the event of the patient suffering from mental disabilities the limitation period does not start until mental capacity has returned.

• Minors: For those under the age of 18 years the three year limitation period does not start until the18th birthday. If the claim has not been settled or Court proceedings issued by the claimants 21st birthday the opportunity to claim compensation will have been lost.

• Court Discretion: A Court has the power to alter the time limits but rarely is this discretion exercised.

The rules of the forces healthcare scheme actually allow service personnel and their partner to remain on the scheme until the service person reaches 65 years of age. It does not matter what future employment is gained, if any. As long as you join before you take out membership of the BUPA HM Forces private medical insurance scheme before you leave the military you are entitled to keep the forces discount. Children are allowed to remain on the scheme until the next annual renewal, July the first, following their 21st birthday. This can be extended to their 24th birthday if they are in full time education i.e. university.

At 65 years of age you would then have the option of transferring to the HM Forces BUPA Care retirement scheme. This is the same scheme i.e. BUPACare, but with two differences. The discount is currently 40% and thus your premiums will be slightly higher. Secondly the scheme looses the overseas cover.

Another common situation is what to do if you leave the military with your BUPA, but are then offered retired military healthcare by a new employer.

One has to be very careful about accepting this offer. In the short term it may sound inviting but it could be disadvantageous over the long term. If you come off your military healthcare BUPA scheme and join a company scheme, when you then leave that company you will be unable to access the BUPA forces discount when your employment with them ceases. This is because when you attempt to rejoin you will be a civvy and therefore will not be able to rejoin. It is better to stay on your own personal policy, pick up the forces insurance discount, and say you your employer that you would rather have higher pay as you have your own insurance or take a different benefit from them, perhaps a car. Coming in and out of insurers is dangerous as you will be re-underwritten at each turn.

Life insurance can be a scary shark tank. You may be in dire need of a whole insurance company, but find yourself clinging to the first one available. As in every situation presented, remain cucumber calm, and evaluate every single option available. There are many professional and efficient insurance groups, willing to work for your benefit. Today is the day to begin to single out your options and steer your insurance future in the direction you seek to go.

One company with the gleaming honor of having the highest rating for customer loyalty is New York Life Insurance Company. This company, peculiarly, offers no extravagant claims to offer promotional rates or low claims. Instead, they stand above the pack for choosing to advertise the greatest value for one’s monetary investment, and their strong sense of stability.

Some big insurance companies that are the most recognizable insurance companies. Admit it; you’ve seen their commercials a million and one times. Some insurance companies offers its clients dividends on their investment returns. In most cases, policyholders receive one to two dollars back from the cost of their premium each quarter. This money, defined as a dividend, is of limited financial significance, but the illusion of being paid by your insurance company is appealing to many customers.

If choosing insurance were a high school, the Western and Southern Life company, would definitely win the superlative of being the most computer savvy. Not only do they have a sleek and attractive web site, they also offer free online insurance quotes. They present a wide array of insurance options, and if choosing the right one proves to be too daunting for a client, that customer is immediately aligned with a live agent who does every thing but the impossible to assist them.

If you had to make a birthday cake for our next company, you might have trouble squeezing in all 100 candles! John Hancock Life Insurance Company has the distinction of successfully operating for 100 years! They are constantly rated higher than other companies and present policyholders an attractive promise of long term options and financial stability.

You may recognize the name Gerber as a chain of baby products, but Gerber Life Insurance is a company that not only serves adults, but offers “grow up” plans for children. These unique plans offer premiums that remain the same throughout the child’s life. The value of the plan doubles as a special present for the child’s 21st birthday.

Global Life Insurance rounds up our list as a respected company that has been in business for half a century. They also follow the trend of plans for children, as well as low introductory rates for children and adults alike. And as frosting to the cake, this company has superior ratings for meeting financial obligations to customers.
